Almost Mother’s Day

Aunt Acid in BlueMother’s Day is coming right up toots, and if you have one, tell her I say “hello”, will you?

Although never blessed with offspring of my own, I have so many wonderful nieces and nephews everywhere, especially in the world of the arts. My family comes from a long line of performers; artists, musicians, even a dancer or two. And while “the show must go on” its important to remember that family goes on too…and not every family fits the cookie cutter mode because they arent all created equal. Some families owe nothing at all to bloodlines and DNA. Its about who you let in to your heart and your life, not just who shares a name or a branch on the tree.  Sometimes we have more than one “Mom” in this lifetime–if you are lucky, someone will give you the nurturing that you need to grow and shine at some early stage. If you arent so blessed, then you can still nurture yourself.  Mother Nature sometimes comes from within, kiddies, and we all come from within Mother Nature.  Mostly.

Well Auntie, I will wish you a happy mothers day because, to me, an Aunt is just as god as a mum, just more fun to hang with 😀

Well Aunt Acid, that is a very profound thought. I love the idea that some people we consider family may not contain related DNA. I consider many of our PCC friends to be my “sisters of the soul”.

    Happy Mother’s Day Aunty!
